09:45 Workshop on Surgical Workflow@CARS 2008
Wednesday, June 25, 2008; Room Merida
Session Chairs:
Oliver Burgert, PhD (D), Thomas Neumuth, MSc (D)
The term “Surgical Workflow (S-WF)” is used in a variety of contexts and for different purposes, each having one thing in common: Modelling the processes in the Operating room.
The approaches to this are manifold: From human or technical observation of the surgical processes and their abstract modelling to the manual description of complex surgical cases there are different ways to acquire S-WFs. They are used to answer specific clinical questions, for requirements engineering for software systems or to drive higher level clinical applications.
This workshop presents different scientific projects within the field of “Surgical Workflows”. Experts in the field show their approaches and systems. The usefulness and applicability of the different methodologies are discussed.
