We are delighted to invite you to CARS 2010, the 24th International Congress and Exhibition of Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery, which will be held in Geneva at the University Medical Center, June 23 to 26, 2010. The latest information you will find on our website
www.cars-int.org.

Continuing with the established CARS tradition, CARS 2010 will open with the Clinical Day on Wednesday, June 23. The emphasis will be on clinical driven presentations relating to minimally invasive interventions. This is followed by three days (June 24-26) of presentation and discussion sessions on methods, tools and applications of CARS technologies in the fields of clinical diagnosis and therapy :

During these four days, From Wednesday to Saturday, many high quality special sessions, scientific papers, and tutorials on surgical subspecialties, PACS, imaging technologies, image processing and visualization, CAD, CMI and personalized medicine have been arranged to provide an in-depth insight into a computer assisted medicine on a world-wide basis.

For CARS 2010 altogether 453 lecture (proffered and invited) and poster presentations were selected
from approximately 600 submissions received from 41 countries. To secure the highest quality of technical/medical content, 72 invited presentations from international experts have been included to provide CARS attendees with the latest developments on advanced methods and technologies for health care. All presentations have been selected through a peer-review process by the renowned international program committee from CARS, ISCAS, EuroPACS, CAD, and CMI.

Following the foundation of the Japanese Institute of CARS (JICARS) in 2002 and its success in organizing CARS 2006 in Osaka, JICARS will present the latest developments of its activities, and in particular, the field of computational anatomy in Japan. Expert speakers from Japan will provide an in-depth insight and attendees are given an opportunity to find out on how Japan has achieved a leading role in CARS.

The CARS Industrial Exhibition will show the expected and real impact of CARS technology in clinical practice.

In summary, CARS 2010 in Geneva welcomes you to cutting edge lectures presented by a distinguished and internationally renowned faculty. CARS 2010 will be an event with ample opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences with colleagues from over 50 countries.

Selected presentations which contain significant innovative solutions will also be published in the International Journal of CARS.

The outstanding international character of CARS 2010 with approximately 50 participating nations evolves from the international societies CARS, ISCAS, EuroPACS, CAD, CMI and EPMA taking a leading role in the CARS 2010 program preparation.
